Thordon Bearings designs and manufactures the most complete line of grease-free water and product lubricated pump bearings in the industry. Thordon can work successfully in the following vertical pump types: cooling water, circulating, drain, stock, fire, dry dock, deep well, drain water lifting, condensate, submersible, screw lift and many others.

Thordon Bearings produces several pump bearing options which offer specific operating advantages that can be tailored to any pump bearing application.

• Thordon XL: excellent for water lubricated applications and minimal dry start-up
• Thordon SXL: preferred choice for dry start-up operation, with a lower dry coefficient of friction, and similar wear life and abrasion resistance properties as Thordon XL
• Thordon Composite: specially formulated to provide outstanding wear life in abrasive operating conditions.
• ThorPlas^©: can be used in relatively non-abrasive pump bearing applications with water temperatures up to 80°C (175°F).

Thordon SXL, XL and Composite pump bearings can also be produced by polymerizing any of the three Thordon grades mentioned above into a metallic housing.

Tough, abrasion resistant Thordon SXL Segmented Shaft Seals provide extended wear life, offer reduced life cycle costs and are much easier to handle/install without damage compared to carbon graphite-based seals.
